What are JBT collection services?
JBT helps members recover money owed by other jewelry industry businesses. This is a B2B (business-to-business) service — we cannot place claims against consumers.
As a member-based organization, our fees are significantly lower than outside collection agencies — typically 18-25% compared to the industry standard of 25-35%.
Who can use collection services?
Collection services are available to Standard and Enhanced members in good standing.

Important: 70% of members who placed a claim did not pull a credit report first — which may have helped them avoid the situation entirely. Before extending credit, consider checking your customer's JBT credit report.
How do I file a claim?
File a claim through your member portal:
Collection Services & Fees
Free Demand Service (First 15 Days) No charge if paid within 15 days and you notify JBT with proof of payment within that time frame.
Collector Action Service (After 15 Days) If payment isn't received during the Free Demand period, fees apply based on invoice age:

Minimum charge: $150 on claims under $834
Non-Member Rates: 36% of amount collected (minimum $300). Note: If you place a claim while a member and later resign, collections on that claim will be charged at the non-member rate.
For comparison, outside collection agencies typically charge 25-35%.
Attorney Forwarding Service
For accounts requiring legal action, JBT can forward your claim to an attorney in the debtor's locality. Attorney fees and JBT fees are separate and vary based on the amount collected and whether litigation is required.
